September 24, 2025Sep 24 I see in the XPlane manual it’s strongly recommended to download one global section at a time since the entire globe is quite large and takes a long time. I’m thinking maybe get the full Monty knocked out so I can go on to concentrate on other aspects of getting the sim up and running. I have about 2.8T free on my SSD so I don’t think space is an issue, just time. So my question is if any of you downloaded the entire globe at once how long did it take? Could you accomplish it overnight? I know your internet connection is a factor but I’m thinking comparative to downloading FS2020 which was 8-10 hours for me. Anyone have an idea? on a side bar I am delighted to see the MJ C47 is available for XP. I hope that includes XP12. My decision to get XP12 is primarily to have the best physics available of how the atmosphere interacts with the uneven heating of the atmosphere and affects the aircraft accordingly and from what I see and read Laminar is the gold standard among sims. Being an aficionado of recip liners I’m eager to try this out. As far as settings most appear (in the manual) very similar to the P3D system even down to key presses. Even more so than fs2020 which is odd. . Vic green

September 25, 2025Sep 25 Author My goodness I'm in love with this sim after two trips around the pattern at KGSP. The default KGSP looks better than the pay ware addon I've used for years in P3D. XPlane12 just showed me what a sorry stick and rudder man I really am😀 Something I always wanted; true to life flight physics. Looking forward to moving ahead with XP12. Thanks Austin🙂 Edited September 25, 2025Sep 25 by Patco Lch Vic green
