November 3, 2025Nov 3 Good morning. Can someone tell me what type of coordinates FS2004 uses, and how to enter them into the simulator to launch an airport? There are two types, but which one does FS2004 use? Thank you at all Andrea
November 3, 2025Nov 3 If you choose the the Map option from the World menu within FS9, just type in the map co-ordinates you need, it'll take "ordinary" Degrees Minutes Seconds, Degrees and decimal Minutes, or decimal Degrees (don't forget the North/South or East/West options) It can be useful if you enter Slew Mode before you change map coordinates to help prevent an immediate crash 😉 So yes, you'll need to actually be somewhere before you can go somewhere else, you can't enter map coordinates from the start menu, but I don't understand what you mean by "two types" of map coordinates ... if you're referring to the system as used by FS4 and earlier, I think they stopped backward compatibility with that after FS95. November 5, 2025Nov 5 Author I read about two types on Google: Sexagesimal, i.e., degrees, minutes, seconds For example: 42* 23'12.1212" Or Decimal: A single decimal number representing the angle. (e.g., 12.51212*) but I still don't understand. Sorry for my confusion: where is the "Map option from the world menu within FS9"? Unfortunately, there is the language barrier, and the translation is not sufficient. Why might it be useful to enter Slew Mode to avoid a crash? Thanks anyway for your interest. Andrea ps.: How can I write in plain text ? Sorry again.

Andrea ps.: How can I write in plain text ? Sorry again. As is so often the case, Google is both misleading and incomplete! Start FS9 Go to any airfield Click on "World" at the top of the screen Click on "Map" Type in your coordinates in the appropriate boxes Click OK Slew mode ... try it and see, if you don't crash, no problem ... if you do crash you know why 😉 Edited November 5, 2025Nov 5 by chris_eve
November 6, 2025Nov 6 Author Thank you...I finally understand where to enter the coordinates in FS2004. I still need your help with the "Slew" mode: I would like to install an ADF near the Alhambra Fortress using the method you explained to me. Can I do this with AFCAD and/or ADE? This is just for my own enjoyment. But thank you for your help. Andrea ps.: fs2004= the best !
November 6, 2025Nov 6 You can add a VOR using AFCAD, just follow the supplied instructions in the help file. I imagine ADE will also do the job, but I'm unfamiliar with it so I can't help there ... again, there are probably instructions/tutorials included with the program. Good luck.

ADE & AFX will do it fine. John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org
