AAO is totally new to me. I am looking to 'delay', 'smooth' actions from the joystick. So, if I push the stick to the left in say 0.2 sec, I would like that movement smooth out to 2 sec. Create a feeling of inertia. Is this something AAO can do ?

Not explicitly as a feature.

This behavior would have to be either scripted or it could result from native settings by accident (dialling up the filter for example, combined with a curve?).

Only way to find out is to try out. There is a fully functional DEMO version on the axisandohs.com website.
