December 20, 2025Dec 20 Just over the last several flights, I don't hear the controller I'm tuned into. If I do "radio check", I hear the background static as well as the PTT Pressed and Speech Recognized tones but not the controller's voice. I see the written text. This continues until at some point in the flight, the sound comes back. I can't say for sure but I don't think it's any particular controller voice that makes a difference. They all seem to have the problem. I've never had this happen before and when I first installed 0.2.7A I didn't have the problem. It's only these last few flights that I've noticed it. https://snomhf.exofire.net/data/P2A_3_Trace_File3.log X-Plane 12, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Nvidia RTX 5090, Asus ROG Strix X870E-E mb, 96GB DDR5 (6800MHz), 4TB SSD, Triple Monitor 1440p, Windows 11, FliteSim CLS-120 Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo, TurtleBeach VelocityOne Pedals, RealSimGear G1000 Suite, PropWash Radio Stack, Tobii Tracker 5, Asus Xonar U5 sound card.
December 24, 2025Dec 24 Commercial Member This is likely the issue with Microsoft online voices. Apparently, Microsoft has disabled free use of their online voices or their voice server is having an issue that prevents those voices from being used. You'll need to remove the online voices so they are not selected as a Random voice. To remove the online voices from Windows, you can use the "Install MS Natural Voices" button on the P2A Voices tab of Settings. After you press that button, press the button to open the tool. Then in the tool, press the "Uninstall" buttons that are not grayed out. That will remove the voices from Windows and when P2A refreshes, they will not be displayed. You can install seven free English local voices using the "Install MS SAPI Voices" button on the P2A Voices tab. That opens a window where you can select from all the Microsoft SAPI 5 Desktop voices and install them. You will need to reboot your PC in order for them to show up. Some of the French and Spanish voices are usable with accents and can add another 3 or so voices.
January 1Jan 1 Author I didn't think Bob Black's trick of adding more SAPI voices still worked after five years. I'm a happy camper now with some twelve decent voices!
