Apparently after they get on, they say something like "It's a miracle, I can see now".

Why am I not surprised?  

There are over 8 million people in the U.S. collecting disability benefits of which 25% is likely fraud, 42 million on food stamps, and almost 90 million on Medicaid.  Now almost half the country wants "free" healthcare, child care and college on top of that.

I had a friend who worked for a while delivering power chairs and scooters to "disabled" people.  He told me that there were so many times where he arrived only to have the recipient walk right up to the door with no problem at all, but they sure were happy to get their "free" $6,000 chair.  We had a couple in their 20s living across the street from us(they inherited their mother's house) who were on disability.  We saw them coming and going all the time with no problems at all.  My wife worked with a lady in her 40s who was earning extra cash under the table and she told her she was on disability due to past drug use issues - perfectly healthy enough to work, though.

It seems that there are more scammers and cheats than ever before, and so many folks who just have no shame.
