January 2Jan 2 Commercial Member As I explore MSFS 2024 for the first time (just installed), I see three locations where one can make changes to improve performance: 1) Windows 10 settings 2) Nvidia app settings and 3) MSFS 2024 graphic settings. Does one have priority over the other? Should all be used and set to the same settings? Should some be avoided? Clutch Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11), EVGA 1300W PSUNetgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displaysFull array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

Do not change things all over the place unless you specifically have a reason to. Use the MSFS settings first. If that gives you good performance (which it should), then stick with that. If you find that your performance isn't great.. well then, you may need to tweak. I've found that as long as Windows itself is correctly setup (which, by default, it usually is - unless you have tweaked and changed stuff like HAGS), the MSFS settings are more than enough. The Nvidia app does various things, but really, if you are starting out, stick with MSFS settings. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
