FSX OOM when loading on minimum settings

I just successfully completed a flight from EDDF -> LFMN on high graphics settings on VATSIM on a relatively busy evening (so lots of AI models).

I did some research and it suggested that my new laptop spec is too good for the FSX game engine, causing VAS fragmentation. To reduce VAS fragmentation I artificially de-clocked my new laptop. To do this I created a new power settings in the control panel and limited the 'Max Processor State'. This was not available for me as a default dropdown so I had to do it via the command prompt (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4145934/max-processor-state-setting-in-control-panel-)-pow).

I added this to the FSX.cfg

I also disabled all scenery other than the airport sceneries and freemesh X for Europe. Therefore Luke's suggestion of a dodgy scenery could still be an problem (although this would not explain why the same scenery doesn't OOM on my old laptop?).

Successfully completed a ~2 hour flight for the first time on the new hardware. Good news!

@Mattie941, with a laptop that powerful you really should consider buying P3D v5.

Your ability to set higher scenery settings is severely compromised by FSX having a limit of 3.8Gb. To give you an idea of what P3Dv5 can achieve I'm currently flying the PMDG 777 in 4K and 15Gb of RAM is being used.

Many of the aircraft used in FSX (ex PMDG) can still be used in P3D. It's a bit like running a Ferrari in first gear.
