Error when loading the configuration database

Featured Replies

When starting AAO today I received this:

"Error when loading the configuration database: There is an error in XML document (70931, 65). If you continue, all previous data will be lost."

I did not proceed, and cancelled the start of AAO. Each time I attempt to start it I get the same error.

Is there anyway to recover from this error?

Sounds like the database file has been broken by something? What was the last thing that you did before? Imported scripts, templates?

Try going back one generation of the database file. See AAO manual, chapter about "Config files, database and log files". All important AAO files are saved in multiple generations. You can go back a step by renaming a previous generation of the file.

The database is here:
C:\Users\obinder\AppData\Local\LORBY_SI\LorbyAxisAndOhs<simname>\ConfigDatabase_<sim>.xml

Before you do anything, make a copy of the entire AAO folder. Then take a look at the file and its generationals siblings, named _1, _2 etc. Rename "ConfigDatabase.xml" to  for example "ConfigDatabase.xml.off", then start with the latest generation and remove the "_1". Then start AAO, see what happens.

When in doubt, send me your ConfigDatabase.xml by email to the support address <support at wildfiretrainingsolutions.ca> (or maybe do that anyway, so I can check it out). Please remember to include your proof of purchase.

Thanks for the quick response, I was not doing anything unusual that I can recall, I was in the Script Editor and when finished closed it normally, then I exited AAO as I was finished for the time being.

I will do as you suggested, ,and report back.

Thank You.
