Lost the ability to point to a switch or button with the mouse, say for instance on the TFDI MD 11 alt button or heading button , to get the up and down arrow to appear effectively pulling or pushing that control. Any idea where I need to go to change that setting to get it to function as it should? Skip

It sounds like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 switched your cockpit interaction mode, which is exactly what controls those little up/down arrows for push/pull knobs (like the MD‑11 ALT, HDG, CRS, etc.).

When this happens, it’s almost always because MSFS changed from Legacy mode to Lock mode, or vice‑versa.

Fix: Restore the Push/Pull Arrows for Knobs

Step 1 — Go to the Interaction Settings

In MSFS 2024:

Options → General Options → Accessibility → Cockpit Interaction System

You’ll see two modes:

Lock - Highlights instruments, requires “locking” onto a control. No arrows.

Legacy - Classic FSX‑style direct mouse interaction. Shows up/down arrows for push/pull knobs.

Set it to Legacy

This immediately restores:

Up/down arrows

Push/pull behavior

Scroll‑wheel control

Direct clicking without “locking”

Step 2 — Check Mouse Profile (just in case)

Sometimes MSFS switches mouse profiles after an update.

Go to:

Options → Controls → Mouse

Make sure:

Cockpit Interaction – Primary Action is bound to Left Click

Cockpit Interaction – Secondary Action is bound to Right Click

Cockpit Interaction – Increase/Decrease are still bound to Scroll Up/Down
