February 5Feb 5 Howdy. Just bought this today after years of consideration. Problem with is it keeps failing due to “corrupt zip files”. Googling those topics, GSX won’t install and corrupt zip flies brings literally thousands of topics stretching back years and years offering multiple kludgey work arounds, none of which have worked for me so far. I’ve posted this on FSDT GSX forum but no response so far, it has been less than an hour so that is forgiven but I thought I would seek advice here. Doing a search on Avsim results in hundreds of topics, far too many to sift through. Some human recommendations are sought after and would be greatly appreciated. Not impressed so far but a solution to install would help me be a bit more pleased with FSDT. TIA, -B
February 5Feb 5 If it's for msfs 2024, run the installer, Activate gsx pro, then exit the app, and run the updater, And you should be able to install it. Windows 11 Pro, Intel Ultra 270K at 5.7 GHz, Asus RTX 5070TI,48 GB ddr5 Trident Z 8000mhz CLK 40, 4TB M.2 x 1, 2TB nvme

February 6Feb 6 I had this problem with another program saying it was corrupt. When I looked at it had something to do with file name too long. I used winrar instead of windows zip program and it uncompressed just fine.

Don’t know how I could leverage WinRar, tho I do love that program for normal use -B
February 6Feb 6 Author Resolved. Spent 6 hours or so with Umberto, only to find fix on my own. If you look at the Universal Installer just under Live Update on the left you will see two drop-downs. One chooses MSFS 2020 / MSFS 2024. The other chooses Beta Channel / Release Channel. If on beta install fails. Umberto never suggested I check those two drop-downs. I discovered this fact on my own. Total waste of time for me today, for Umberto too I suppose but I’ll shed no tears for him. He’s the developer. He should know this plus the Universal Installer apparently defaults to beta channel during install of the installer. Bad form in my opinion. YMMV. TANSTAAFL. Thanks to all that offered suggestions , -B

But you can be sure the only way to enable Beta channel is to act manually on the drop-down selector. Also, I removed the Beta channel entirely from the installer now, it will come back again in case we'll have another public beta. Umberto Colapicchioni http://www.fsdreamteam.com FSDT on Facebook
