Flybywire a320 bad performance in MSFS 2024

Featured Replies

I’m running into a really frustrating issue and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.

I’ve got my sim pretty well dialed in on MSFS 2024 — after a lot of tweaking, all my other aircraft are running perfectly. Everything is nice and smooth, no stutters, and overall performance is exactly where I want it.

But the FlyByWire A320 is a completely different story.

For some reason, it absolutely tanks my sim. I’m getting constant stutters, really slow panning, and just overall poor performance — even with cockpit refresh rates set to low. It honestly feels like a completely different sim compared to everything else I’m flying.

I’ve tried pretty much everything I can think of:

  • Tweaked all graphics and performance settings
  • Cleared rolling cache
  • Full reinstall of the sim and addons
  • Upgraded my monitor to 188Hz with FreeSync Premium

No matter what I do, the FBW A320 just runs terribly.

At this point I’m kind of out of ideas. Is anyone else seeing similar issues with this aircraft in MSFS 2024? Or has anyone found a fix that actually works?

Appreciate any help 🙏

FBW planes, and all though they’re a labor of love and free — aren’t optimized all that well. It’s time to bite the bullet and purchase the Fenix A320. I thought for the longest time that the FBW would suffice but then I gave in and purchased the Fenix and it’s easily one of the best addon planes in all of flight sim. It’s very well optimized now. Also, if you’re asking questions regarding performance— it’s good to list your computer / screen specs.

One is a NEO (FBW) the other is a CEO (Fenix).
If it's just the Airbus experience you want then, yes, the Fenix will do the job nicely. If it's a NEO you are after the only game currently in town is the FSLabs A21N. However it's only available as an A321.

I can't say I've had a poor experience with the FBW A20N but hen again I'm on MSFS2020. The FBW A380 is a different kettle of fish entirely as it (even the 4K version) absolutely hammers my computer.
