Auto FPS and SU5

Featured Replies

I’ve noticed that after SU5 a few odd things happen.  1st, every time I start the sim, my settings change to something else, mostly ultra.   When I change them back to what I typically use, I get some weird Auto FPS message or warning that I have never seen before. Is there something with auto fps that is causing this or vice versa?  Additionally, I can’t get rid of the generic AI aircraft that sit at the gates.  This happens even when I turn the traffic to low or off.  I use psxt and real traffic so those planes still show but the generics are still at the gates.  Any idea on what is going on?

I always stop Auto-FPS, change my MSFS settings, and restart Auto-FPS  That stops it from yelling

Can't help with the AI a/c though.

I don't see that my settings were changed when I start the simulator. However, when I change some settings when MSF AutoFPS  is running, it complains and says it changed them back. Not for all settings, but more than just OLOD and TLOD and cloud quality, the things AutoFPS controls.

About extra traffic: When I turn up SEA TRAFFIC I sometimes get GA traffic, even when AIR TRAFFIC and PARKED TRAFFIC are off and no injectors are running. Very strange!

You have to set your initial settings in the main menu before entering flight. Once your in flight AutoFPS takes over and will set them to whatever it needs and you intervening by going into the menu in flight will only throw it off and will make it reset to the settings it wants.

My auto fps automatically starts when I start the sim.  I know it changes lod and I have never had it yell at me when changing other settings.  Are you saying I should start the sim, choose settings then start auto fps?  I have TAA on for example but every time I go into the sim that gets set to something else. Lots of things I have set to medium or high get set to ultra and vice versa.  I’ve never had that before.  Odd

Well then youprobably have the NVIDIA app running and it is that one which fiddles with your settings. This is basically the 5th or 6th thread now about this in the last 7 days. Lots of users who have that app installed, set it to optimized for MS2024 and then wonder what is changing their settings.

Thanks.  I’ll have to check and see if it is running.  I don’t believe it is but you never know.
