Cargo pallets and containers as scenery objects question

Featured Replies

Hello,

For several days, I have made attempts to find scenery objects in the form of cargo containers and pallets and general ground equipment found on cargo ramps at large airports. Success = 0. Trying to use these objects from payware airports isn't possible when using EZ Scenery because I want to place them in other regions that they are not allowed to be used in. Does such a freeware or payware object package exist? I was sure that this would have been the kind of thing that would have been created by some talented person since it's such an obvious kind if filler needed for those interested in adding objects to airports.

Thanks very much for any info provided.

Neil

Neil,

I see no copyright issues when using e.g. payware scenery objects, to enhance your own existing sceneries ----- as long as you do not re-post any of them, either separately or as part of any new sceneries created by yourself.

Hi Hans,

Ya, that (copyrights) is not my concern. When I use EZ Scenery to place the objects, it objects - telling me that I can not use the objects because they are out of range for their intended use. There are some nice cargo pallets/containers in some of the payware Airports that I have, but I can only add/use them at those airports, not others.

Best,

Neil

The UK2000 Common Library will probably give you all you need, try here UK2000 Scenery . Make sure you get the FS9 version, not that for a later version. Do note, any branding and logos visible will probably be UK-orientated (inevitably!).

Beautiful! Thanks chris_eve, I really appreciate it. There are many goodies in that common library that will be useful.

Best wishes,

Neil

Neil,

Can you please name one or more of your payware airports of which the scenery objects are blocked for placement in other sceneries within your own FS2004.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Out of inquisitiveness I've also downloaded the FS2004 version of the "UK Common Library" and have found that about 50% of the textures therein needed to be mipped and have their compression changed from DXT1 to DXT3 mostly in relation to their existing ALPHA (= black transparency) channels.
