Any where to find TFS 777-300 base packs?
Good evening, Only being back fully into FS9 this year, I have spent a great deal of time modernizing Airlines and my Airports. I understand much of what used to be available is not available, but wondered if there is any place to still find TFS 777-300 AI base models? I don't hold out much hope after scouring the web, but figured I'd ask as a last ditch effort. Thanks very much, Neil

ITA Airways AI Repaints: A350 or 787??
Ya, not so much for me, Dave. I have been away from "modding" FS9 for quite some time, and have been happily flying all the reworked FS9 world I created from years ago. Much of what is old news to you is new to me. That said, I downloaded ModelConverterX_180 & MakeMDL and seem to have created a FS9 model and textures for the ITA A330-900 repaint. I uses DXTBitmap to convert textures to .BMP and flipped them, and all looks good when viewing the plane in ModelConverterX_180. I then added my plane to my aircraft file using AIFP3, and recompiled. I assigned one flight plan to this new plane, but FS9 doesn't recognize that the plane exists, so I missed a step somewhere. I am sure it is obvious to most, but if someone can help me analyze, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks very much. Neil Edit: please disregard my call for help. I saw my new ITA plane land at KORD as expected, so all is good!!!!

Sidney Schwartz Portland 2010 AFCAD Challenge
For all of those who've replied, I thank you. I could not figure out the issue with the blurries, so I reverted back to using the Portland scenery: https://www.fs2000.org/2008/01/01/fs2004-scenery-portland-intl-airport/ Steve sent me an ADE9 file that excluded all of the trees I was seeing in this scenery. I'll consider myself whole again, but may try to mess with the Portland 2010 blurries at some point when I have the mindset to attack that again. Appreciate you all. Neil

Sidney Schwartz Portland 2010 AFCAD Challenge
Hello, I did try to try removing the 2 LC files, but still encounter the blurries. Weird thing is that it may take a second or third visit to the airport for the them to appear. Or, a long time slewing around may make them pop in. I do have a high end machine, so I would not think it is resource. Only happens on this airport out of dozens of other add-on airports. Steve, I did send you a pm, thanks for the offer - that is indeed the other scenery I was referencing. Best to all, Neil

Sidney Schwartz Portland 2010 AFCAD Challenge
I really appreciate all the info provided above, thanks to all. While I was able to use ADE to modify my parking spots successfully, I am encountering the dreaded blurries while moving around the airport on certain AI planes/airport structures/terrain and some trees. I downloaded all of the scenery libraries listed in the readme that were housed here, but for obvious reasons, I can't grab the ones from FS. Most of them I already had installed anyway, but wanted to be sure I didn't miss anything. In the past, there was also another Portland scenery I had installed that came from FS. I can't remember the authors name, but it wasn't a default improvement, but a new scenery that shows the tarmac as prototypical "PDX" black. This one was decent (for it's time), came with main route folder and an exclude and pdxez folder, but I can't for the life of me get rid of trees littering the west end of the airport. Followed the readme on layer order of importance for the 3 included folders, but trees are still visible. PDX just doesn't want to play in the sandbox with me 😞 Neil

Sidney Schwartz Portland 2010 AFCAD Challenge
John, thanks. I have not been into modification for some time, and have simply been enjoying the mods I worked on years back. I appreciate your feedback, and I get it. What I don't get is, "save the modified file on a different scenery layer to load after the original. Any special features only in the original would still work.". I am certain I don't understand. The modified file would be the Portland_KPDX_ADE9_PH, yes? Jimmy, been fishing between storms here too (Chicago area). I will check out the link you provided, thank you! :) Neil

Thanks Jimmy, I never ran into this challenge, so rather new to me. I will look for ADE and try your advice. I'll reply back by Monday with my results. Have a great weekend! Neil

Sidney Schwartz Portland 2010 AFCAD Challenge
Hello, after a long hiatus, I decided to fly to Portland after freshly installing Portland 2010. Before taking a flight, I slewed around to check things out, and all seemed ok. Looked nice too. Next up was an edit to the afcad file "Portland_KPDX_ADE9_PH" (located in the main Portland folders scenery folder) to tweak a couple of radius parameters to match my personal values for certain planes. The issue: whether I make one edit or many, after I save the afcad file and get into the sim, default airport scenery mixes in with the addon airport scenery. When in AFCAD and selecting KPDX, it only displays the default and addon file, and I am always selecting and editing the addon file that came with the scenery. I've tried renaming the file, moving it from the Portland folder to the addon scenery folder with same results, and I can't seem to figure why I can't successfully edit the file included in the download. I thank you all ahead of time for any suggestions and info you provide. Best, Neil

HU: Another update for EVO2015
Also, to Ses and Sascha, I managed to get my blurry issues resolved by tweaking my FS9.cfg file, so much better on that front. Played with EVO settings a lot today, and am finding some nice balances. Still more fun to have. Still looking around for those heavily forested areas though? Overall, it's really starting to come together. I'll post some pictures when I have it exactly where I want it Neil

HU: Another update for EVO2015
Where are you flying to see the heavily forested areas? I tried a few spots in North Central USA, and Ontario, where I though I'd see that kind of coverage, but did not see it? Thanks! Neil

Howdy Ses, "Have you thought of coming to the nVidia side of things?" Ha! Next system build  Hopefully within the next year. Best, Neil

HU: Another update for EVO2015
Sesquashtoo and Sascha, (and bowingic) Thanks guys for your responses. I removed the Shader files, and installed "SweetFX 1.5.1", and seem to have much better results, that would be expected from using SweetFx. (bowingic - just Google search SweetFX 1.5.1", you'll find a download link). Experimenting with the settings now for some fine tuning. My initial query about blurred ground textures I believe is an FS9.cfg issue/solution, as opposed to the add-on's. I've always had an issue with ground textures not "popping into focus" until almost right on top of them, which leads to very close proximity looking good, and anything beyond blurred, and won't pop into focus until I am pretty close to that "tile" of ground surface. Sesquashtoo, I have an older ATI 5770 card, and use Radeon Pro to adjust settings. I think I am getting the max out of my card settings, so hoping for some further advice on FS9.cfg settings. Thanks very much, once again. Neil

HU: Another update for EVO2015
Sesquashtoo and Sascha, I am using EVO along with Reshade 1.1.0 with SweetFX_2.0 and must say, your shots look so much better that what I am achieving up until now. I have tried some of Sascha's .cfg settings, as well as others, but have not found the magic bullet to get: "and no morphing to blur textures clear out to the horizon. You can still see the definition of field shapes, for instance, the lighter tan ones, right at the point of the horizon....no more blur to collage of color, as FS9 used to display. In fact, only the tiles closest to the plane, would be in focus. No longer....everything has composition. No matter where I fly, no more degradation towards the horizon" For many years I have tried solve why my ground textures start to blur out so close, as in a couple of miles at the most from my plane. I feel like I've made every .cfg edit file known to man, and still never get that view you show in the screenshots above. Do you both have any advice/tips that I can try? Thanks very much, Neil

FS9 - SweetFx/Win7 Ultimate/DX11 - Just can't get it to work
Though nobody responded to this topic, I'll post my cure in case it helps someone in the future. I had to install the directx redistributable pack from June 2010. After that, reinstalled SweetFX, and turned off AA in game, and all is working as intended. Thanks much, Neil

FS9 - SweetFx/Win7 Ultimate/DX11 - Just can't get it to work
Good Day, I recently started using two different texture enhancement packages. One called TNW, and one called EVO. They each have their strengths, and I commend the authors for their accomplishments. My goal is to enhance the environments further, using SweetFX. Relevant system components are AMD Phenom II Quad Core/ATI 5770 card/WIN 7. I have since been trying to get SweetFX installed and working, with disastrous results. The main issue is, after installing all the files in the root FS9 folder, and adding the SweetFX folder to the root, FS9 fails on start-up stating it can't find DX9, and to reload it. I am running on DX11, and also have the DX9 run time libraries, etc. When I remove the "d3d9.dll" file from the root, FS9 will start as expected, but I have no effects from SweetFX. Put it back, FS9 won't launch, spitting the DX9 error up. I have spent 3 days reading posts on numerous forums, tried different versions of SweetFX - with, and without the Shader package/installer (When trying with Shader, it throws up a failed to execute something or another, when starting a saved flight. Not sure why the failure, but the errors stay on the screen even though the flight loads ok. Whole 'nutha story!) I'm reaching out to any experienced user of SweetFX, who also uses Win7 & DX11, who may have had my issue, but found the magic to get it working. I'd love to play around with it, and aspire to achieve some of the magnificent visual effects that can be had, when using it properly. Thanks very much to all who respond, it's very much appreciated. Shorelines extending outward after EVO Install?
Good day everyone, Gave EVO a try this last week, and think Sascha did an incredible job. I like what I see, and enjoy the new look very much. One undesirable effect I noticed is that the shorelines (I can only confirm this on inland shorelines of North America) seem to have extended outward, effectively pulling all of my float base and outpost sceneries up on land - so, half the docks and various other objects that should be in the water are on land, like the water has receded during a drought. I notice this on all of my installed Roger Wensley sceneries, and my own outposts created with EZ Scenery. Sascha had been very supportive, and suggested that I try replacing a few coastline files, as well as a couple of other UT* files, but we can't seem to pinpoint what file(s) it is in his EVO pack that would cause this. I can restore back to my pre-saved texture folders, and all is back to normal. I write here wondering if anyone else has noticed this, and if so, have you been able to correct it? If so, may I ask how? Thanks very much to Sascha, and to anyone who replies. Neil
