To the North Cape and beyond

Featured Replies

We are going to visit the northern most part of the Norwegian Coast, starting in Bodoe.

This follows in the footsteps of a recent 18 day cruise that I took, starting in Amsterdam and ending in Dublin, Ireland.

We start at a sign found on the pier in Bodoe:

As you can tell from the sign, we are already well above the Arctic CIrcle, and plan to proceed to the North Cape, via the Lofoten Islands, ending up in Honningsvag.

Documentation
The flightplan can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3lzbbzqqmndhwdg3u8nin/VFR-Bodo-ENBO-to-Valan-ENHV.zip?rlkey=hopw94nezviri1ti47mrqx04g&st=i76n745c&dl=0

Aircraft
This is a flight of about 400 nm with 7 landings, so we need an airplane that can cruise at 250 kts. I will fly in the Beech King Air. Please fly what you like.

Additional Scenery
All the airports are in the default simulator. That said, several addons, found on the to-site, can enhance the scenery, especially the bridges that connect the various islands. You may already have these from previous flights.

Time and Weather
For takeoff on Wednesday, set the simulator to 11 a.m. We typically prefer real weather but I recommend the  default “High Clouds” preset.

Multiplayer Particulars
