Shut down Engine 1

Shuts down Feathered ok

Cannot restart engine 1

Anyone else seeing this problem?

I think it's always been a problem. 99% of the time I start the Atr from cold & dark at a gate, where ground power is available. I tried feathering then restarting on the runway and just couldn't do it. All variations of the usual startup procedure(s) failed.

Maybe there's some hidden function in the MSFS model that expects it to be present - even if you don't actually use it. Can Atrs be restarted on the ground away from a gate in RL, I wonder? I suspect yes.

IMHO, the Atr is still incredibly buggy - in spite of all the latest "fixes". eg. Importing a Simbrief flight plan without specifying an alternate arrival airport still produces an irrecoverable WASM error.

Did some checking:

MSFS2020 will restart ok.

MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 can be started away from gates and without using EFB Groundpower.

MSFS2020 will load Simbrief plans without an alternate.
