September 4Sep 4 Many times, airports created for MSFS 2020 will work in MSFS 2024, but using the MCE command 'Confirm ATC options' sometimes returns 'No available ATC options'. I found this solution works for me:Open the manifest.json file for the affected airport.Add "package_order_hint": "CUSTOM_AIRPORT", just below the "minimum_game_version" line. So something like this:"minimum_game_version": "1.21.18","package_order_hint": "CUSTOM_AIRPORT",Make sure you include the quotation marks!Save the manifest.json file. Now, when using this airport in MSFS 2024, the Confirm ATC options will now return the ATC Menu items. Obviously, this is helping MSFS. MCE only cares whether the options are showing on screen. For instance, if you start a flight to runway, engines running, it won't find anything becaose the options aren't there (clearance for takeoff already granted). Once it locks on their location is can then track the changes. With regards previous menu...In IFR, when Fo has the comms he typically reacts to - [Tune whateverA-atc on XXX.XXX], - Contact whatever_atc, -Acknowledge_whatever. It's tricky with VFR flights as it's not obvious what you expect him to do, not to mention he's not actually pressing PTT when transmitting, just ambient static noise played. How are you typically asking him to handle ATC. Is is with commands such as "ask for flight following", "reply to atc"? Edited Friday at 05:42 PM5 days by FS++ Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com

I mostly fly GA and VFR. If I fly IFR, I usually use FSHUD. There are times when I ask the FO to handle the comms (when I need to step away), but I usually handle them myself. If my ATC request is not recognized after several tries, I'll simply say option one or option two, etc. and have MCE 'press' the appropriate key to answer ATC.Other times, I can simply say Roger, and MCE will answer ATC with the first menu option (assuming it's an ATC response).I do wish I could practice more 'real' commands, such as 'Portage County unicom, turning base runway niner, Portage County'.Usually, I have to keep it simple like 'Unicom, on base.' I think MSFS 2024 ATC is better now, and MCE is definitely interfacing well with it.This find originally started off as a solution for Navigraph and MSFS 2020 airports: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/701072-navigraph-approach-fix-for-2020-airports-in-2024/ Edited Friday at 08:40 PM5 days by flyblueskies PC: AMD 9850X3D, RAM 64GB, Geforce GTX 5090 (32GB), MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024, Pimax Super 50PPD, Quest 3
