Failure simulation

Recommended Posts

Do you know if it is possible to simulate a landing gear failure that would prevent only 1 gear from extending? For example, I would like to make a landing with only the nose wheel and the left wheel down and lock, and the right wheel still up.Is it possible with FS9?Thanks.Eric

If you write custom XML code for the makemdl.parts.xml file for each of the three gear, you could easily add an bool L:variable to enable/disable extension or retraction. This way, you could simulate both retraction and extension type failures... ;)

>Is it possible with FS9?lol... I guess it was possible in 2000, if not 98. :-hah The only possibility, though, to activate that kind of failure was to create one of the good ole adventure files (*.adv if I am not mistaken)...Yeah, unfortunately the days of APL are counted *:-*, too bad. Or is actually anyone doing anything with ABL these days? I can't remember spotting a single file on any of the major libraries out there. :-eek
