MQ-1B Predator HUD DesignI am a senior at USMA West Point, NY in the Engineering Psychology Dept. For my capstone project I was required to do a complete redesign of thePredator UAV HUD to address certain human factors, psychological, andsystems issues with UAV operation. We have a prototype layout but myteam lacks the ability to create a working HUD for FS2004. We arelooking for help to create this working prototype to present the firstweek of May. The design is very simple and looks similar to a fighterHUD but takes up the whole screen. If anyone is interested please posta reply with your email. This project is for the US Air Force and will bereviewed by General Atomics (Predator manufacturer) and may offerfurther incentives. Thank you. Please e-mail me at [email protected]NOTE: I found this at "the other place" and thought I'd copy it here where this fellow might stand a change of someone actually reading it... ;)

>Thank, Bill. I've emailed him some of the work I've done. You are most welcome, Jon. As I wrote to him in my reply at "the other forum," I knew for a fact that at least three people here had already programmed HUDs that possibly could be adapted to meet his requirements rather easily. Also, he might actually stand a chance of getting a reply... ;)

"Beatus ille qui procul negotiis..."

Sceptic as I am I have to say that my gutfeeling tells me that it's highly unlikely that the military are going to ask help from the FS community for projects like this. Correct me if I'm wrong...

>Sceptic as I am I have to say that my gutfeeling tells me>that it's highly unlikely that the military are going to ask>help from the FS community for projects like this. Correct me>if I'm wrong...As I read the original request, it is not the "military" who're asking, but rather an individual cadet at West Point. What is a bit odd though, is that an cadet in the US Army's military school would be working on what is essentially an Airforce problem... ;)I'm also as skeptical of folks who use "hotmail" for email, as I am of "AOL" folks in general... ;)
