Hi,I would like to change/replace bitmaps in a gauge and downloaded ResourceHacker (and a few other likewise apps). But all of them can't show/export the bitmaps because the gauge file is appearantly compressed and then it can't be exported.Tried to decompress it with UPX but no luck so far.Anyone got suggestions how to proceed? Thanks for the help.EgbertBTW: The gauge is main gauge of PMDG 737NG.

Try Googling for BitmapEx6.exe (I downloaded it for free but can't remamber from where). It enables bitmaps to be extracted from .gau files. It doesn't allow them to be replaced.

Are you sure there is a bitmap to extract/replace? The gauge you are after might be "drawn" with DirectX, GDI+, or AGG, etc., and only have a placeholder bitmap as a resource.

Hi,Thanks for the head up.I learned that resources (i.e. bitmaps) can't be extracted/replaced from compressed dlls/gauges unfortunately, and the PMDG gauge is compressed......

Hi,Yes the gauge does have bitmaps like gauge bevels etc, but as I replied to the previous poster, the gauge is compressed so no ability to replace bitmaps.
