Fires, smoke and other effects..idea..

Since I dont have a clue how it all works, maybe someone in here with some time to spare can work it out.Recently I saw a screenshot in the screenshots forum where someonefaked an nuclear detonation. It was at New York. Its not that what I am after :-) but the size of the effect wasbig. So, one could do this also with a smoke effect, to display a forrestfire. Preferrable in the are close to an airport to make the approach a bit harder. With http://www.echos.ch/eod/index.html one can with FSEFFECTS add effects, thus smoke also, to scenery.Who can try this out? The effect need to be BIG of course!I am sure there can be other ideas, like chimney smoke, of from powerplants?JohanPS: just for fun.. nothing more.. :-)[A HREF=http://www.phoenix-simulation.co.uk]Phoenix Simulation Software[/A]Unofficial PSS website:www.people.zeelandnet.nl/johdMy help may not me much usefull, or usefull much..eh?

People gave been doing this already. The main problem is that you can't see effects from any further than 5 nm or so. I've done some nice volcano eruptions but with this visibility restriction it's just useless...Cheers, Christian

Hi, Johan. I have included forest fires in two of my latest bush sceneries: Wild Yukon logging camp (BC, Canada) and AVSIM Base (SE Alaska). They are not close to an airport; they are in woods, carelessly started by campers :). I was helped with the effect details by Nanni, designer for CFS2.Cheers.Naji

Hi Johan,I think you can better use another program then FsEffect, I have found that it still has some bugs and you can also easily place them with SCASM or the Effect SDK.And about the forest fire, one of our members (NL2000 Team) is also working on some forest fires on the Veluwe. Also there will be smoke on all chimneys, fireworks at new year, etc.Arno

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.
