September 2, 200223 yr I know how to edit the asm file to turn off shadows. Is there a line of code that one can edit that turns off sun effect shading?http://members.rogers.com/jkanold/jimlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif
September 2, 200223 yr Commercial Member What do you mean exactly with sun effect shading? I only know the normal shading because of the sun :).ArnoMember Netherlands 2000 Scenery Team[a href=http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen]http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen/banner.jpg[/a] Arno If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done. September 3, 200223 yr Any luck since we spoke on Yahoo?Removing the tie to ambient doesn't work. There has to be a way to make a model not shine in sunlight.http://members.rogers.com/jkanold/jimlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif
September 3, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi, Yes at your realisme setting, disable the sun glare, bottom right..ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
September 3, 200223 yr That's npt what I want.I only want to loose the effect on one model.http://members.rogers.com/jkanold/jimlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif
September 3, 200223 yr Thank you will try that but I think what Jim and I are looking foris a way to select the above for each model if that's possable.Thank you very much for answering though. Dan
September 3, 200223 yr Do you mean the reflectivity / specular colour? You have to edit the textures to disabled that (get rid of alpha channel).Or set the specular colour to 0,0,0 and specular power to 0.Cheers, Christian
September 3, 200223 yr Now that may indeed what I am looking for!! (DUH). I will check that out. Some times one does not see the forest because of all those trees. Dan
September 3, 200223 yr Commercial Member Nope, no luck since the chat. Just read christians suggestion, still need to try that. But every setting I tried didn't work.ArnoMember Netherlands 2000 Scenery Team[a href=http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen]http://home.wanadoo.nl/arno.gerretsen/banner.jpg[/a] Arno If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done. September 3, 200223 yr The texture doesn't have an alpha channel. And where do I find the specular colour and power?http://members.rogers.com/jkanold/jimlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif
September 3, 200223 yr I have tried every combination in GMAX with no luck. Maybe some codehead knows what line in the asm source file to change?http://members.rogers.com/jkanold/jimlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif
September 4, 200223 yr Have a look in the MATERIAL_LIST in the BGLC (and read the scenery SDK).It's easy to find. If you still have problems finding it, just ask again...Cheers, Christian
October 7, 200223 yr Have someone found a way to remove the sun light on trees textures since that old discussion ?
October 7, 200223 yr Nope.Autogen trees have no sun effects on them.Wish we knew the answer.http://members.rogers.com/jkanold/jimlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif
October 8, 200223 yr Hi,I've been told today that the autogen trees have their own drawing routine which is hard coded into the graphics engine and can't be emulated.Maybe someone will find a way to solve the issue... a day.have you try to use a DXT3 semi transparent texture. I will try it. Maybe the reflection is less important on those textures...
