TOWER POSITION

Featured Replies

I modified a stock airfield using AFCAD including adding a new tower viewpoint as well as taxiways, aprons, taxiway signs.I excluded the old tower in the same XML file in which I added a new tower and other buildings. However, in FS I still get the stock tower view - not that from the new tower. Everything else is fine.Any suggestions?

Howdy, there must be about a dozen threads about this "issue" in the fora...Quite simple: every time you save a flight the current tower coordinates are saved in the .flt file and then loaded when you start this flight. Thus, after changing the tower position, you have to start a flight elsewhere, then jump to the edited airport and save that situation as the new default flight for that airport. Alternatively, you can copy & paste the tower position data from the AFCAD window into the existing .flt file.Cheers, Holger

Did you make a tower position or move the default tower position in your AFCAD file? The default scenery files do not have a stated tower position, therefore the tower position floats. If you open AFCAD, press insert, click the location of your tower on the grid, it will place a "Circle-T" at that location, save the file and the tower view will be at that location. If you don't like the position you first placed the tower, select the tower, right click, properties, and make changes.W. Sieffert
