July 3, 200718 yr I've just taken my first steps in creating some scenery by creating an airfield based on an abandoned WWII airfield near to where I live. I've installed it into FlightSim X, and maybe for the first time many years I've landed an aircraft there. But, I do have one problem, part of the runway is covered by terrain as the site isn't quite flat. I think it might need to update the mesh, if so, can someone point me in the direction of a very simple way of doing this. All I want to do is flatten the terrain in one small area. Nothing more complicated than a small polygon at a fixed altitude. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Anton.
July 3, 200718 yr Commercial Member Hi Anton,You indeed need to make a flatten polygon for that. The shp2vec tool from the SDK can do that for you, but it is not really easy to use.So I would advice you to try SBuilderX or FsX KML. Both of these tools give you a GUI to make such polygons. July 3, 200718 yr If you're using one of the airport editors for FSX you could make a small apron area, texture it as UNKNOWN, set the height and slide it underneath the runway. Note if there is any autogen poking through this won't get rid of it.
