I am losing Autogens as I add few objects to a scenery. How come?

Recommended Posts

I am using Instant Scenery and I want to add objects to an existing scenery.Megascenery Hawaii has phototextures as well as its own autogens like trees and houses.I am using Instant Scenery to add few objects. However after I exit and load back FSX, A section of Megascenery's autogen (trees and houses) have disappeard? How come? I am not understanding something here obviously. Could anyone help explain this to me and how I could avoid this?ThanksManny

Scenery Objects come with their own exclusion rectangle that removes any objects close to them. Usually this area is not very big but some objects might exclude quite a large area around them. If you place a number of objects in the same area then their exclusions may overlap. Excludes don't always remove autogen but this may be the cause of what you are seeing

Thanks Jon.You are correct. There is a big red ractangle around some objects while Place them. Its these that are causing the issues. When I removed them, I got the autogens back. Now, I am fighting something else.I place some boulders in the coastal areas...and it looked good. When I exit and go backto FSX, those same boulders are much higher than where I placed them. they are floating. Not sure what happened.Hmmm..:)MAnny

I figured out why they are elevated too. Its also another object that I used thats no good. I used Mt Rushmore reduced size as rock. Not a good idea. :)Manny
