May 21, 200224 yr Hi all. I'm curious...I am having a problem with FS2002 not holding its joystick settings ( it keeps loosing the throttle assignment among other things. When looking around, I found this file (fs2002dw.cfg) which appears to be a duplicate cfg file. Anyone know what this file is or what it does? Any help appreciated. Thanks,Ed Green, [email protected]
May 21, 200224 yr Hmmm dunno fs2002dw.cfg, but I had a similar problem. Try deleting MODULES/FSUIPC.INI then restart FS. Maybe it helps. Or - try to reset the joystick axis assignments and sensitivity.Regards :-wave from EDDFhttp://flightsimmers.net/airport/etti/signature_pro.jpg
May 21, 200224 yr fs2002dw.cfg and a directx file are generated when fs2002 encounter's a problem and wants to send a report to Microsoft. The information in these two files are sent to Microsoft. You can safely delete the fs2002dw.cfg file because fs2002 will regenerate a new one the next time it needs too. You could delete the directx file as well but I don't remember its name at the moment. May 22, 200224 yr If you don't want FS2002 to change your controller settings for any reason:1. Make sure you have a correct setting.2. Exit FS20023. With Notepad, open file FS2002.cfg in the main FS2002 folder.4. At the end of this file, you'll find one or more sections with header (Joystick ....).5. In each section, after the line (Joystick .....) add the lineLOCKED=16. Save FS2002.cfgNow, FS2002 will never make any changes to your controller settings anymore. This also means that you cannot make changes yourself for the Options-Controls-Assignment menu. If you want to do that, you (temporarily have to change the appropriate statements into LOCKED=0.Rob
