June 22, 200223 yr while flying in Norway with RC2.2 I heard some chatter and some ATC instructions to my plane in voices which sounded as if the tape/record was running at the wrong speed. I haven't heard this effect before. Is this a known problem with the Norway chatter files perhaps?
June 23, 200223 yr Commercial Member there may be a few that recorded at the wrong sampling rate. makes it sound like chipmunks JD Read my blog
June 23, 200223 yr Author I certainly get occasional chipmunks on the chatter, but the strange thing is the way that a subsequent RC standard pilot and ATC text becomes slowed down to half speed. One other strange thing just experienced in the same area: about 15 handoffs from centre to centre to... (you get the picture) within 5 minutes while flying a straight path in northern Norway/Sweden.

An update: my current flight in Norway is being given a handoff from centre to centre about every 30 seconds. Is this a problem with the lines of longitude being close together at high latitudes?
June 24, 200223 yr Commercial Member i think i only change center in v2.2 based on altitudes, and every 100 miles (or something like that, i forget) JD Read my blog
June 25, 200223 yr Author >i think i only change center in v2.2 based on altitudes, and >every 100 miles (or something like that, i forget) Something going wrong here then: another flight in northern Norway running on my other machine as I write this has been given centre handoffs every 30 seconds or so. Would it help if I were to send you the adventure file?

June 30, 200223 yr Just want to add that i experience the same - both with the handoffs and the weird voices... Due to my best knowledge, the norwegians don't sound like that! ;-)
July 1, 200223 yr >Due to my best knowledge, >the norwegians don't sound like that! ;-) Well, I haven't come across the alleged problem myself, but living close to them I can tell you that Norwegians do indeed sound like chipmunks ;-)
