Hi JD,Having read the RCv3 manual again, I'm now sitting around waiting for the 24th ;(8I still have one question:What is the foreseen way to change Pilot Voices? (Ruthanne, JD ,Rick Thompson, Bob Johnson, Jeff Evans, David Gaffney, Michael or Juliana Jastrzebski, Phil Dant, Sara Thompson).In v2.2 I run batch files to copy the appropriate WAV's into the right dir, so by the click of a shortcut-icon I can assign Dave Morris, JD, Jamie, or G.J Bogaerts to be my "Otto".

Jaaky,There's no difference in V3, except where the wav files are located.However, like V2, the chatter pilots are processed with radio effects. The pilot and co-pilots are not. If you go to the Flight Deck's RCv3 page, you can DL two other voices that aren't processed. These two people, Jeff and Juliana, are chatter pilots as well, but just in case you want a change, you can do so. I can always put up anyone as a non-processed voice.I have all the potential co-pilots available in my RCv30winwood directory. I have 0 - Ruthanne, 0jj - Juliana, and 0je - Jeff. Then I can pick who I want in the right seat. If I want Juliana, I rename 0 to 0rr, then rename 0jj to 0.As for exchanging pilot and co-pilot, then you can easily do that by renaming 1 to something like 1org, rename 0 to 1, then rename 1org to 0. JD becomes the co-pilot, and Ruthanne becomes the pilot.

You mean there's not going to be any way to simply "click here" to select a different pilot and/or co-pilot voice? Even FS2002 can do that (well, minus the co-pilot). Doesn't seem it would be that complex to program something like this into the user interface. {Or if there is an obvious "select pilot voice" option, forgive me ... in retrospect, that would have been a very easy thing to do. but, no one ever requested that feature in v1, or v2, or v3.on the list for the next version ;-)

that i think we have covered. there is a checkbox on the options page that says "play pilot wavs". if you uncheck that, the pilot wavs don't play, and you can speak.

To be problematic - then i make a request here!! ;-) Would make it a bit realistic if it didn't sound like the same co-pilot wherever you fly in the world..

Lars,Currently there are two other co-pilot voice options - Jeff and Juliana. You can DL those sets from the Flight Deck.But I think you'll be busy just getting the feel of v3 for a while. ;-)

I have no doubt i will, Scott. It's just something which had been on my mind for a time, as it's a bit "weird" to hear Jamie's voice,wheter you are capt. on a plane from USair, Air France or South African.. Like having your wife with you at work (or mother-in-law) just to make sure you don't get tempted somewhere... :-lolBut since it's Juliana now - has Jamie retired? ;-)

Lars,Actually, the official Co-Pilot is Ruthanne Rodriquez.Jamie had to retire due to real-world considerations. We all miss her.I think I'll write a quickie program you can run to change the Co-pilot voices (and pilot too for that matter).

Scott, Yeah, I miss Jamie too but what we have is fine by me. It would sure be nice if some of the new users of RC3 would get their wives/girfriends/grandmothers/whatever to record the pilots scripts to give us all some more choices! hint hintBest,Rob
