Use of RC3 with other adventures

Featured Replies

JD,I fly for a couple of VAs that use ADV scripts to monitor flight performance for post-flight reporting. Am I right in concluding that I'll still be able to do this with RC3 as it is now external to FS?ThanksAndyEGTR

hmm, good question. never tried it. theoretically, i think it would be possible. but it would be worth testing. maybe someone has already tested this?

Andy,It's possible, but there is staill the problem if using an adventure turning off FSATC, and thus AI.Are you using real adventures, or is there something else being done that will allow FSATC to keep running?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'real' adventures, Scott. They're scripts that end in a .ADV extension. The absence of MS AI aircraft is no problem as I never use them anyway. Most of my flying is online, but I'd use RC3 for those occasions when there's a total absence of online controllers. The .adv scripts (used by Austrian Virtual Airlines and UK Direct Airways) both monitor aircraft performance and check for stuff like flap deployment schedule, speed below 10k, VSI rate and GS deviation to give each flight a rating which then generates revenue based on pax carried and distance. At the end of the flight a rating is generated which is then returned to the VA who compile the performance ratings within their rosters. The real neat bit is the scoring for landings which don't just judge vertical speed, but deviaton from TDZ and centre-line and whether or not a bounce is recorded. Even the length of time in the flare is assessed. It REALLY makes you concentrate, I can promise you. If you get a smooth landing recorded with AVA, there's a .WAV file of the passengers applauding! The point being that there's more to the flight than just going from A to B.So, if it's not possible to use this with RC3, I'd be a bit worried. However, from what you say, it seems that it'll probably work. Be good if someone could test it though.Take care,AndyEGTR

Andy,I'm familiar with the adventure you're talking about. It should have no problem with RC. Nrither should even know the other is there.

Great! Cheers, Scott. I appreciate the confirmation,AndyEGTR

Andy,I can't speak for AVA but as far as the UKD adv with RCv3 I'm afraid it's a no-go :( Reason being they both need to use Adv Display simultaneously. I haven't found a way around it yet.Pilot UKD121
