Only Heard One Controller -- Ever

Featured Replies

OK, I've mentioned this before in my posts but never got an answer. I just went through the winwood folders to listen to the various controllers and, gee, there are more than the one foreigh fellow who has followed me around all over the US! Somehow, I only get directed by the guy in folder winwood/10. All the other controller, including the female ones, have never been on any of the 6 flights I've flown on RCv3. Any idea what gives here???I flew last night and everything else went great. STL-LNK TWA 623 in a Flight1 Iron Knuckles DC9-31. The only problem I have now is this guy is STALKING me!!! :-badteeth :-sword Need some help, please! I've never heard any of the controllers in folders 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, or 98. Oh, yeah. I have heard some of the .wav files in the "99" file. :-lol :-lol :-lol :-lol :-lol Steve, KCLE

I'm curious as well. I do all my flying in the US but have never heard anyone accept that British guy. Nothing against the British accent!;) , it's just a little strange that he's the only one that talks to you as your flying!!

91 - 98 are "chatter pilots"these guys are played, when rc generates chatter, and there has to be a pilot to respond. that's what they are for.were you working with scott, did you rename any directories in winwood?you should have winwood0, 1 - co-pilot and pilot, respectively2-10 - controllers (none should be missing in the sequence)91-98 - chatter pilots99 - doug's critiques, or praise...

Hi Steve,That's me :-(If I'm all you are getting you have my deepest sympathy - I hate the sound of my own voice ;-)Check the folder structure as jd suggested, you should be getting more variety than this. All the best,John 'Limey' B

jd, I have folders 2-10 and they are full. The only one I hear is #10 (Downing Street :-lol) -- Actually a good voice set but it's the only one that plays apparently. The only change I made using Scott's downloadable files was to move the original pilot (1) to co-pilot (0) and downloaded and installed the Jeff Evans files as the pilot (1). Nothing else was changed. I did download and installed the update Scott provided on his web page. Any way to exchange some of the folders 2-10 with the 91-98 folders? Are all of the .wavs the same or are there extras in one or the other?Steve

91-98 are pilot wavs2-10 are controller wavsthey don't match one for one.something is going on here. i might suggest uninstalling rc, and reinstalling it, to get the wavs right

So, as I understand it, folders 91-98 are pilot voices for AI aircraft. Right? It very well could be that the folders 2-10 are all men and just sound very similar. I'm flying my return tonight and I'll check. Only problem there is it's all in ZKC airspace so I may not have much variety afterall. We'll see & I'll report back. Thanks, jd.:-wave Steve

Steve,RC doesn't use sub-sector Centers, so yes, you'll have only one Center controller per sector per altitude class (Low, High, Super). You should have different voices for Wx, Gnd, Tower, APC, and DEP (whichever are present).91-98 are also used for RC-generated Chatter. If you don't hae canned chatter for an area, then RC makes it up with these pilot voices and whatever controller you are talking to. When RC calls an AI for traffic, then they are also used to acknowledge.E-mail me if this persists and we'll get it straight.

Well, I most humbly apologize. There are several different controllers on the air. They're pretty close but they're different.Started my flight out in Lincoln (Minneapolis Ctr) with a new guy and he handed me off to my English buddy. Oh, gee, I thought wryly! :'( Well somewhere around Lamoni Iowa I entered ZKC and my English friend handed me off to a new guy. Wow! Guess I just wasn't listening. This guy had me decend to 10,000 in steps (Cool :-cool ) and at 40 miles out from KSTL he told me to contact Approach. Another new guy!So, good buddies at RC. I most humbly apologize. This program gets better and better. This is my 6th or 7th flight with it and it certainly is a great program.I now give it an 11 out of 10!!! :-beerchug :-wave Steve KCLE
