Changing Airports

Featured Replies

Let me start off by stating that RCv3 is terrific!! In getting to know the program, I have been trying different things. The last procedure that I tried was to change designation during flight. What happened was that I had put KSFO as an alternative in the controllers options.....When I asked to change designation during flight, a miniture FMS popped up and when I tried to get rid of it, the simulator minimized...? In other words, I couldn't get the program to do what it was supposed to do. Does anybody know about this?Paul

an alternate is not the same thing as a change of destination. you plan your alternates in case of bad weather at your arrival. so maybe if you were flying klax to koak, you might put ksfo and krdd as your alternates. in approach airspace, you can request your alternates. or after a missed approach, you can request your alternates, while in approach holding or vectors, you can request your alternates.change of destination is used while enroute. if you were simulating flying your boss from klax to koak, and then you wanted to simulate him asking you to land at ksfo instead, then you would use the change of destination, like you did.when that little panel comes up, click K S F O and then ENT. you will then be cleared direct to ksfohope this helps with the difference between alternates and change of destination
