December 28, 200223 yr For some reason, Otto takes the controls, but won't fly the plane. When departure or center gives a new altitude, Otto doesn't put the new setting in the auto-pilot. Any ideas why?Also- suggestions for future editions- I really appreciated that on the MSFS ATC, you could set the pilot's voice for female. On RCv3, the girl is stuck in the co-pilot's seat. But thanks to the developers for not making it two male voices. Now, if someone could help me get Otto working, that would be great."A girl and her plane...It's a beautiful thing."
December 28, 200223 yr What plane are you flying? Otto will not work with panels that use non-standard autopilots. Also, make sure you have heading and altitude hold engaged before handing the plane over to Otto.Sidney Schwartz [KPDX]Horizon Flights--flight plans and scenery for FS2002http://sidneyschwartz.homestead.com/index.html
January 2, 200323 yr Well, I did some testing, and it appears that Otto won't fly the default B734. I have no problems with other aircraft. I'm sure this isn't right. Any ideas what could be causing this?
January 2, 200323 yr Interesting. The B73's all I used in developement. As Sid says, ensure the AP's engaged with heading/altitude buttons "hot".Voices... you know what 0 and 1 sound like. Poke through your pilot chatter subs. I think they're numbered 92 thru 98. These files are exactly that of 0 and 1. Mix & match to suit your ear.BTW, would you be interested in recording? If so, HEY SCOTT! Scott's our sound man, a darned good one . I'd prefer another pilot but we've a gross shortage on female controllers. Since Sara recorded as a pilot for v3, going the controller way may be the thing to do. Scott, whatdyathink?
January 2, 200323 yr Hi, You say the "default B734". Is this the same as the b737_400? I ask because my default 737 is listed this way in fsaircraft folder. I took it on a hop with RC and Otto worked just fine. Could you be aliasing this plane to a non-standard panel?Best, Rob
January 2, 200323 yr Yeah, it's just the B737_400 that comes with FS2002 with the default panel. I used the American Pacific version and a Southwest Airlines repaint using the same panel. Otto won't fly the plane on either version. She'll take the controls, but when new vectors or altitudes are given, she doesn't change the auto pilot settings. On the Boeing 777, Otto works just fine. And I always have the auto pilot buttons engaged before handing over the controls. So, this is rather strange. Persephone
January 2, 200323 yr ", "got it"?You say that you're using other textures. Is there any possibility that those included a new aircraft.cfg file? There's always the possibility that the &l;Radios&r; section was left out if so.
January 2, 200323 yr It's extremely easy to change the pilot and co-pilot. 0 is the CP, 1 is the pilot. If you want Robin (either Ruthanne or Juliana) as pilot, rename 1 to 1$, then rename 0 to 1. Then rename 1$ to 0.Batch file script you make in winwood:ren 1 1$ren 0 1ren 1$ 0save.As for the frustrations of Otto, for a girl who lives (at least part time) in Tartarus, and being married to the Lord of the Underworld, I'd think a little pain is expected ;-), but see my post above.Say "Howdy" to Zeus and Demeter for me. ;-)(addt'l)You can get Juliana's CP set from the Flight Deck RCv3 page, then you can have a total female flightcrew.

Just edit it like a .cfg file? You'll have to forgive me. I'm an editor. I know nothing about programming. Though, I can usually figure these things out with some specific instructions.>>Say "Howdy" to Zeus and Demeter for me. ;-) >Ha ha. :-roll Like I haven't heard that one before. :-) Best,Persephone Williams(not to be confused with any Greek deities)
January 2, 200323 yr I just remembered that I had some autopilot problems a while back. I don't recall if it was the same problem, though. I reinstalled FS2002 and the problem went away. Maybe you should give that a try.Sidney Schwartz [KPDX]Horizon Flights--flight plans and scenery for FS2002http://sidneyschwartz.homestead.com/index.html
January 2, 200323 yr Persephone,You don't need the batch file if you only want to switch the pilot and co-pilot once. You can rename the directories manually. If you rename as noted above, you will then have Ruthanne as pilot and JD as the ever-faithful CP. However, if you then DL Juliana's CP set, you can unzip and replace JD. Heaven knws we all do. :-lolAnd there's nothing wrong with being a goddess, Greek or otherwise. ;-)
January 3, 200323 yr One thing that I noticed was that if I had the AP set to NAV (so that it would follow the GPS) then Otto would not change either the heading or the altitude. Once I switched back to HDG then both of these items were handled once again.
January 3, 200323 yr Commercial Member that is correct. otto needs hdg hold and alt hold selected on the ms auto pilot to work correctly. JD Read my blog
