Turning off critique wavs

Featured Replies

OK, so I can't take critisism.......seems like I am always a victim.....can't we just get along?Somewhere in the recesses of my mind, I seem to recall that the critique and/or critisism wavs could be turned off. Can someone share the process or point the way? Thanks

We all can learn with constuctive critsism. Just point out the errors, that is enough. To go on and on about one's driving skills for instance isn't needed in my opinion.RichR

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ROFLMAO :-) Y'all crack me up! I just opened rc3winwood99 folder and had a listen to the whole list. Some of them are priceless.. The one that offends you is "dtonairway5.wav". Rename it to .bak or something and Doug won't critisize your driving. ;-)Best, Rob

Read the menu when you've landed after contacting ground.2 - Get critique3 - End rcGuess which one you use to not get the critique? ;-)

Scott, I thought it was just "some" critiques that weren't liked, not all of them! LOLRob

I don't know. All mine say "Congratulations, Master, I am here to please." :-hmmm

I realize that they were included in the program for a reason, but I personally find them distractive. Please do not take this as criticism (spelled properly this time) of a wonderful program.ThanksDom

Dom,Yes, there is a reason there are bust wavs when you bust instructions or rules. Mainly, to tell you you're doing something wrong and off procedure and it needs to be fixed. In the real world, if you fly recklessly, ATC gets really, really annoyed. The more you keep busting things, the more they want you out of the sky since you can be a hazard. The system only works if everyone flies by the rules. My suggestion, instead of deleting files, is that you practice improving your flying skills. It's doable, and once you adopt good procedure and keep within all the deviations, it'll become natural. As you practice you'll hear fewer and fewer complaints. If the plane you're flying in FS is very difficult to control, there are numerous better files available, and better aircraft as a whole.I know the busts are distracting. They're supposedto be. Nothing wakes me up faster than a controller announcing I'm doing something wrong that needs immediate attention.

We all would like to do a perfect job or have a perfect flight. Mistakes happen and no pilot objects to a reminder that he has done so. Not all the altitude or airway busts are the users fault in this program however. Leaving the controller at a critcal time to get weather causes missed check points and late altitude crossings. Weather should be obtained long before one is in a control center area and should be at the pilot's discretion.RichR

Rich,If you're on comms you can get weather just about anytime you want, depending on how you have your weather program set. If Robin has comms, she gets weather at about 50 miles out, just before being handed to APC (which is at 40 miles from the airport). Just make sure you have your weather program set to report field weather at 50+ miles. I think RC max may be 60 miles out but I'm not certain. If you're using FS weather, you won't get the field weather until you're almost on top of it, when FS switches weather to that field. I think you can get ATIS from FSATC if you're out a ways though.

if you are having trouble holding altitude, change the altitude deviation to 1000if you can't stay on course, change the heading deviation to 45if you can't maintain speed, change the speed deviation to 50at some point, you really should return those to the default settings, at least to see if you are getting better :-)
