March 15, 200323 yr Is there an option to stop the copilot from switching the comm control back to me during final approach?? And when trying to switch back to copilot she switches it right back to me. Very annoying when landing.Bill M Bill McIntyre Asus StrixB650E-F Gamer, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D, Corsair Titanium DDR5 64GB, Samsung 990 PRO-4TB M.2, (4) 2TB SSD's, Corsair H1150i liquid cooler, RTX 2080TI Founders Edition, (2) LG 34" HD Curved Monitor, Sound Blaster Audigy X, 1Kw PC Power & Cooling Power Supply, Corsair Obsidian Full tower Case. March 15, 200323 yr Commercial Member that's by design. whereas on the frontend, i can use the parking brake as a signal for the co-pilot to contact tower when you are ready, there really isn't a good way to determine when you are ready to talk to ground after you have landed. JD Read my blog
March 15, 200323 yr Author Hello JDMaybe you misunderstood what I was asking. During final approach the co pilot hands the comm radios over to me. What I want is the co pilot to handle the radio, while I fly the plane. When I try to switch to radio resposibility back to the copilot, it keep switching it back to me. On the ground, I can handle talking to ATC if that's the way you set it up, no need to change that. Just flying on final.Bill M Bill McIntyre Asus StrixB650E-F Gamer, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D, Corsair Titanium DDR5 64GB, Samsung 990 PRO-4TB M.2, (4) 2TB SSD's, Corsair H1150i liquid cooler, RTX 2080TI Founders Edition, (2) LG 34" HD Curved Monitor, Sound Blaster Audigy X, 1Kw PC Power & Cooling Power Supply, Corsair Obsidian Full tower Case. March 16, 200323 yr Commercial Member no misunderstanding here. comms are handed back as you described. that is the way it is designed to happen. JD Read my blog
March 16, 200323 yr JD,Don't know if i've totally misunderstood this thread or not, but I have the co-pilot handling the comms all the way through final approach to landing, taxiing off the runway and contacting ground for the parking stand.Isn't this meant to happen? I mean if it isn't i'm certainly not complaining as it leaves me to do the flying and the co-pilot can deal with the radio.I tend to hand the comms over to the co-pilot whilst taxiing out to the departure runway. When i'm virtually at the holding point ready for take off after I have carried out all my pre-departure checks I contact the tower and the co-pilot handles everything from there for the rest of the flight.Regards,Steve.
