March 26, 200323 yr 1. How are the two working together, I know there used to be some problems with the keys etc.. did they get worked out or these two progrmas still can't work together?I currently use RC and was thinking of buying FDC also just wanted to make sure the programs may work together.2. I know I can listen to FSATC when I open their window and tune my radio to the center via "Tune to Center press X button" or whatever like that you know what I mean, but I want to make sure I can still hear if RC was going to tell me something, can this be done, can I set my FSATC to work on COM2 while I use COM1 for RC? How can I do it?So far when I used the above option and RC was going to tell me something I believe it tuned my COM automatically to their freq so I did not miss anything, just if there is an option maybe to get FSATC automatically on COM2 that be good, just I am not sure how...ThanksAndy
March 26, 200323 yr Yeah, I'm with you there. I'd like to have FS taxi instructions to the runway. I've read the manual part about getting them to work together but no joy so far. Can't seem to work the two without conflicts. I CAN get taxi instructions to the gate after a flight, but not to the runway.Other than that, RC is the cat's a*s. :D Adam
March 26, 200323 yr Commercial Member 1) was fixed with the last fdc release. or you could start fs200x, rc, then fdc as a workaround2) you can listen, but you really don't want to interact with fsatc. JD Read my blog
March 26, 200323 yr There is almost no problem getting taxi instructions from FSATC while using RC3. If you load the FS flight plan into FS make sure you load it as VFR. Request takeoff to the south, or wherever, and ask for progressive taxi instructions. The only problem I see is that you now have to request the same runway from RC3. Some people uses RC3 because they don't like FSATC's runway selection, but if you want progeressive taxi you have to go where FSATC sends you. When you arrive at the runway request take off clearance from RC3 and if you are trying to coordinate with AI traffic, also request take off clearance from FSATC. RC3 may ask you to taxi and hold but you can wait until FSATC clears you around AI traffic since RC3 will not give you final take off instructions until you are lined up on the runway. Once airborne, FSATC will tell you to contact departure. Do not do this. Ignore FSATC until you are on the ground and off the runway and want progressive taxi to the gate. By the way remember to set FS to use COM2, RC3 will use COM1 automatically.Tom Tom
March 27, 200323 yr "By the way remember to set FS to use COM2, RC3 will use COM1 automatically."Yes, yes this is what I wan't to do but not quite sure how to do it?Thanks
March 27, 200323 yr Activate COM2 on your radio panel. If you need instructions for doing that, we need to know which plane you're flying.RC doesn't care which radio you activate, it always looks at the frequency set for COM1 and pretends that it's always active. The autotune feature of the built-in ATC always work on the currently active radio. So, if COM2 is the active one, you'll have RC and FSATC work simultaneously and independently. Personally, I find it impossible to live with two controllers speaking over each other, but others seem to think it's great.
March 27, 200323 yr The panels I use are those of "777-200Profesional Phoenix Just Flight" and "767PIC" I believe that 777 has originally only one COM radio it has 2 NAV's, but only one COM, don't recall the 767PIC.What I wanted to know is if you can make FSATC automatically tune in to COM2 and from what I understand you wrote FSATC will always tune to the active COM and RC always to COM1 so kind of can I make COM2 always Active.. I do not want to contact FSATC for anything just really only monitor what they are saying for example with the high volume of AITraffic I have I will have a lot of chater from FSATC and other then Real ATC Recording from RC which I like a lot the RC autogenerated chatter I do not really like.. nothing wrong with it really I just don't really like them to much and I don't have time to fill in all the directories with prerecorder real life chatters to be use, I will do it over time but untill then it would be nice to hear what is being said around to other AI Planes.Hope I am not being too much of a pain :-)ThanksAndy
March 28, 200323 yr Andy,Read the manual, pp. 105 for an explanation on how to add a COM2 to aircraft that don't have one. I cannot help you with details on the two aircraft you mention. And yes, once you manage to turn on the COM2 radio, you can leave it on and have RC3 and FSATC speak simultaneously.
