April 16, 200323 yr How about using (have a gauge designer build it) a visible or invisible TCAS gauge built to your requirements to feed RC the AI info it needs, if this idea has merit. I am planning on putting one in my commercial flight cockpits. There appear to be a few existing freeware add-ons that could probably be modified. Just a short position history of each target would be kept if needed to determine direction. I do not know if these gauges show mode C altitude and, of course, VFR AFAIK does not show. But it would apply in B and C airspace for VFR as well.Just submitted for a future consideration.
April 16, 200323 yr Commercial Member fsuipc has the ai information, i have the same access to the ai information as a gauge would have.it is limited by distancejd JD Read my blog
April 17, 200323 yr Author OK. I was just looking at the pretty pix over at the Ultimate Traffic site. For off line traffic, it looks like an interesting package. I am aware of project AI, but if one does not mind the $$$ it makes everything convenient. Now to find room on my panels for YAG (Yet Another Gauge).I guess I would have to go enroute under NOTAMS to allow deviating around the flyspecks.
