June 30, 200322 yr Hi friends,i have two simple questions for you:1)When i open RCv3.1 Controller Info page i can see that Transition Levels are not stick to 180 at any time as in previous v3.01, but from time to time those values change; is that normal? Or perhaps i have accidentally edited TL number and...Also MSA automatically changes from time to time, as RC should be able to read altitudes somewhere!2)couldn't land at EGCC (G. Summons) this afternoon. After approach vectored me to rwy 6L, once on final intercept to localizer (109.5) my 737 got crazy and didn't follow its descent path but turned around and crashed :-(In r.txt i can read:EGCC,9997,148,24L,231,0EGCC,10000,151,24R,231,109.5EGCC,10000,151,6L,51,109.5EGCC,9997,148,6R,51,111.55Both 6L and 24R have ILS-GS and same freq. Is this correct? Why both Rwy 6R and 24L do not have GS but 24L has a BC instead?Should 24R have a BC too? Thanks in advanceLuigi ;-)
June 30, 200322 yr Commercial Member 1) different transition levels are stored with each flight plan. that is what is in the .rc3 fileso if you have a euro flight, you can have 40 and 60 for your departure and arrival transitionsif you have a kjfk-kdca, you will have 180 and 180.you must have changed transitions, and when you recall that flight plan, it remembers the transitions you used for that flight plan last.2) i don't see any problemsome ils's have a glide slope, some don't. did you ever capture the glide slope? June 30, 200322 yr Luigi,I don't have Gary Summons' Manchester, I have Barry Perfect's English Airports (Although I may be getting Gary's version because Barry won't be upgrading English Airports for FS2004).Anyway, in answer to your question, 6L, 6R and 24R all have GS. Only 24L has BC. I think this is because in real life 24L is hardly ever (or maybe never) used for landing. For a start, any aircraft much larger than GA landing on 24L would have to taxi to the end of the runway, where there is a turning loop and then back-taxi along the runway until it could clear at one of the exits.24R and 6L use the same frequency, but in real life ony one of these would be switched on any any time.Ian Ian Box
June 30, 200322 yr Luigi,v3.1 uses a2.txt for airports and runways.csv for the runway info.Pete Dowson has made a handy-dandy little utility to read the FS2002 afd's and get the runway info from FS for use with RC. E-mail me and I'll send it to you. Then at least you'll be up to date with your setup.
