July 20, 200322 yr Commercial Member i just uploaded build 2178. this fixes two things that were reported in testing:1) better descent clearances2) off course nagging when the next checkpoint is hundreds of miles ahead of youif you already have 3.1 beta installed, download www.jdtllc.com/v3/rcv31.zip , unzip it into the directory where you have rcv31 installed, overwrite as necessary, you're done.if you haven't downloaded 3.1 beta, read this post http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=7979&page= for full details of version 3.1, download directions, etcjd JD Read my blog
July 20, 200322 yr Hello JD, I am not sure what you mean by this 3.1 new build. I sense that we just download v3.1 again and re-install the new 3.1. Is that what you mean? Getting late here and I'm not fully with it.Regards

July 20, 200322 yr Thanks JD, I did say that there is a buildup of cobwebs upstairs and I don't always clean them up. Fine business.Regards
July 22, 200322 yr JD:I downloaded and installed the new build 2178. Flew a flight from KORD to KCVG with downloaded weather, using GetWeather. All of the ATIS reports were correct, but on descent when I adjusted the altimeter from standard to the local given by ATIS (29.51) RC told me that I had busted my altitude clearance (I even got a visit from the FSDO upon gate arrival!). I then set the altimeter back to 29.92, and was told that I was now at the right altitude (10,000 ft.) I am not sure whether this problem was there during the climb, as I was in a constant climb to over FL180. Is there a data file I could send you, or should I re-fly the flight. Also if it matters, this is the only 3.1 build that I have installed.Other than that I love the new build and the ability to interact with the AI traffic. Great Job.Bill
July 22, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member make sure you have the correct transition levels set on the controllers page.remember 180 means 18000, 100 means 10000, 60 means 6000jd JD Read my blog
July 23, 200322 yr Hi jd,I've just recreated the very first RC flight I downloaded way back when. KATL to KDABFlown using Captain Sim 727, My Traffic for AI & FSMeteo.KATL..MCN - Departed using 26L flew rwy heading. Turned by departure to 145 a couple of minutes later turned to 180 ??Then back to 135. Is this normal?Good traffic interaction on departure. RC notified me of several other Delta aircraft in the area.Cleared to FL230 during climb, re-set alt no problems with FLDuring cruise had to change squawk code, I even got moved to a lower alt, no problems with way points. No problems on approach or landing RC had no problem with airport altitude :)I'll try some more and let you know.(It was great to fly the route again, thanks)RegardsMark
July 23, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member you were probably flying out of atlanta, during it's peak hours, and you had a departure s turn. perfectly normal for big airports, during peak periodsjd JD Read my blog
July 25, 200322 yr Hello JD, I uploaded and installed build 2178 and thought I'd try it with a flight from KATL to KSLC. I have never used AI traffic before but I did set the slider to 37% for this trip knowing KATL is quite a busy airport. I was at the 9-27 end of Ramp 1, got the CD approved and then received clearance from Ground to taxi to and HOLD short of R27R. I was taxi-ing down taxiway M toward R27R and, lo and behold, an AI aircraft turns off Taxiway 5 and heads right towards me. I stopped my aircraft but the AI aircraft calmy plowed right into me. As I mentioned, I never used AI before but this certainly was not a good start. Ground never told me or the AI aircraft to stop or anything. I'm not sure what we can do under these circumstances as I believe you said, a number of times, you cannot control AI aircraft. Any suggestions beside setting the AI slider to zero?Regards
July 25, 200322 yr >make sure you have the correct transition levels set on the>controllers page.>>remember 180 means 18000, 100 means 10000, 60 means 6000>>jdJD:You were correct. Both of the transitions were set at 0. My fault. Sorry, to bother you, but thanks for the reply.Bill
July 25, 200322 yr Blais,The traffic slider has nothing to do with AI. It has to do with vectoring you in the air for phantom traffic.RC has no awareness of what's on the taxiways. It only knows what's on the runway, or landing on the runway.RC also doesn't direct or talk with AI. It talks at them, but not with them, when they're on the runway or landing. AI knows nothing about RC.So now you know. The slider function is in the manual.
