Wx reports and ActiveSky

Featured Replies

Greetings. I'm having problems with the linking of RC and AS.I'm running both RC3.1 and ActiveSky2004, unregistered FSUIPC 3.22. When, at 60 miles or so before my destination airport, I leave the frequency for weather, the weather report given is not correct. Usually, the report states calm winds, wind direction zero, altimeter 00.00, temp zero, and other values that suggest it has unlinked from ActiveSky.The weather is reported correctly during preflight. I haven't checked the weather during other portions of the flight, so I'm not sure when it unlinks.Refereshing the weather does not re-establish the link.I thought I read about this before, but I can't find the thread, so I'd be grateful for any advice. Thanks,Keith

JD,Sorry, FS2004. Keith

1. Check the destination lock and suppression options in AS2004 options to see how you've set it. Also make sure you have FSUIPC set to minimal weather options as stated in the manual.2. Compare Flightwatch Radio as you get closer to destination (tune 122.0 on your second com) and check that report.3. Check the destination FS ATIS report.4. See how they compare with RC's reporting. You also should upgrade to FSUIPC 3.30 as REQUIRED by build 115 of MR2 AS2004 just released.5. You could alt-tab briefy to look at AS's current condition window.RC and AS both depend on FSUIPC and FS ATIS would be direct to the FS weather engine. This is to narrow it down to see if it is a problem more common to RC or RC and anything else that uses FSUIPC.There will be an upgrade of MR2 AS 2004 in a week or two as soon as FSUIPC 3.31 is released.

get the latest fsuipc, and try it again. the url is in one of the posts pinned at the topif activesky isn't setting the destination weather, then rc isn't going to read it right.after the latest fsuipc, try it again, and let me know the resultsjd

Thanks for the help!I'll get the latest fsuipc, and go ahead and buy the registered version. However, I don't see MR2 for AS2004 anywhere on their website, just MR1. Is it out yet?Keith
