July 29, 200421 yr I am using the FS2004 Beta version. This error happened this morning and caused FS2004 to quit. RC quit as soon as I had 'OKed' the error message. Any ideas would be appreciated. Regards Keith B. Life is a short dash between two dates on a Tombstone
July 29, 200421 yr Commercial Member what changed since the last time rc worked, and now? did you modify any files, runways, frequencies, airports, etc?do you get the error after you read in a flight plan? or right away, before you can do anythingjd JD Read my blog
July 29, 200421 yr Author JD,I have had my PC updated since I last ran RC, but nothing as far as FS2004 is concerned. The eror ocurred towards the end of a flight from EGKK to EGJJ. I was over EGJA, descending to 6000, as instructed by RC and then BANG. I was thrown straight to the desktop with the 'runtime error' on the screen. I tried to resume the flight from a point before the error but FS kept crashing. I have since re-run the end of the flight without RC and no problems.RegardsKeith B Regards Keith B. July 29, 200421 yr Commercial Member run time error 3 means a "return without a gosub". that means a bad bug somewhere in the code.i'd really like to find it, if possible. on the next couple of flights, save a set of dat files (.dat, .wx, .flt) with the rc keystroke ctrl-shift-;then if it happens again, you can send me those 3 files, and maybe i can find itthanks, sorry for the crash....jd JD Read my blog
July 29, 200421 yr Moderator Keith,<>Is that a typo or are you really running on a beta version of FS2004? If so, why? Beta versions of FS2004 legitimately obtained from Microsoft would be replaced free of charge with a gold copy as a thank-you for your hard work. Why not just install the gold copy?Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 29, 200421 yr Moderator Keith,<>Ah, that makes more sense then. It would probably be helpful if you provided the version and build numbers when reporting problems. The latest version is 3.1, build 2269. Follow the link on the locked topic near the top of the list. If you're not running that version I suggest you install it as it may cure the problem.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England).
