August 4, 200421 yr Hello,my name is Luca and I'm considering the purchase of radarcontact.I have fs9 and fly offline using PAI ai traffic (all the world).I also use fsuipc (registered) activecamera and fsmetar. Here the points I'm confused with:1)I would like to know if radarcontact does cope with ai traffic (especially PAI) and if it's possible to hear ai traffic and atc dialogues.2)Does it allow to select the correct atc frequency from a list as fs9 atc does, or do I have to insert the frequencies manually?3) Is there a noticeable framerate drop using radar contact? thanks for your help!last but not least:I've read something in the forum about version 4; when will it be out and would there be an upgrade cost?ciaoLuca
August 4, 200421 yr Commercial Member 1) rc will notify you of ai traffic around you, in the form of a traffic alert. in v4, there is full rc to ai dialog2) rc tries to use the same frequencies fs9 atc is using.3) rc is a standalone process running outside of fs, so there is no direct frame rate drop. depending on your machine specs, you may see a drop. but i can't remember anyone complaining of a frame rate dropthere is no date set for a v4 release. we live by doug's motto, "quality not calendar". as in the past, upgrades cost less than new purchases. the v3 upgrade was 34$, the purchase price was 44$hope this helps, feel free to ask anything else. download the rc manual, and see everything rc is going to do for you.jd JD Read my blog
August 4, 200421 yr About item #3 RC3 works just fine and doesn't reduce the FPS in FS as much as I can see since february 2003 I have used it at almost each virtual flight :). Activating 100% AI traffic with all PAI packs will reduce more these FPS than activating RC3, just to compare. Sebastien BELLUTEAU
August 10, 200421 yr Hi jd,I've also been considering buying RC for quite some time now but thought maybe it would be wise to wait for v 4 - could you give us at least a hint on the timeframe for the release date? Are we speaking about a month or two or a year or even more...?TIA for any info, would be much appreciated
August 11, 200421 yr Commercial Member more than a month, less than a year. probably early 2005. earlier if i can make it happen. but i have to pass doug's quality testjd JD Read my blog
