August 26, 200421 yr Hi all, just want to know, why RC v3.1 ask me to change my heading for traffic even i can't see any traffic sign inside my TCAS 2 system. And when i have traffic warning, normally yellow color , no instruction from RCv ask me to change my heading. what happened actually ?
August 26, 200421 yr Commercial Member 3.1 does not do real ai awareness/conflict detection/de-confliction.what are you seeing, is random traffic vectors, for realism.if you don't like it, turn the traffic slider to 0jd JD Read my blog
August 26, 200421 yr Wait a minute. I am getting traffic targets called as I see them on my TCAS. I have the option in the control panel of Interact With AI checked and Random Trafic Vectors off. While there is no vectoring around AI in RC 3.1, at least there is recognition with the latest builds.Maybe I'm misinterpreting the OP's question.Using TCAS I resolve conflicts with slight heading deviation and speed adjustment. Close, but not perfect. For the user, version 4 as "advertised on the forum" is being perfected by JD for collision avoidance and deviation as with the latest FSUIPCs some control of AI is available.
August 26, 200421 yr Commercial Member maybe i mis-interpretted.traffic vectors in v3.x are random fake events.traffic advisories are definately real live ai planes that are within the prescribed limits justifying advisoriesin v4traffic vectors will one method of de-conflicting a potential conflicttraffic advisories will remain the same, but if i do a good job of resolving potential conflicts, it should be reduced in frequencyjd JD Read my blog
August 27, 200421 yr You always do a good job taking the product to its most feasable fullest extent. One caution I can think of in resolving traffic conflicts is to insure you sample enough of the AI in the proximity of the general flight direction to insure resolving one conflict does not lead to another. Pretty difficult but then I'm the official technical pessimist at work with a talent for forward looking catastrophic events.
August 27, 200421 yr Commercial Member i'm looking at the 96 closest planes. so i am evaluating planes over 80 miles awayjd JD Read my blog
