September 1, 200421 yr I am having a few problems in using RC3 and the Cessna 310 by Flight One. The AdvDisp window appears when I first start a flight but if I change views, the window disappears and does not return. I thought I saw someone post something about this but I don't know where I saw it. Any suggestions?
September 1, 200421 yr Commercial Member are you docking it to the panel? i don't have that plane, so i can't test it.jd JD Read my blog
September 1, 200421 yr Yes, I docked it. This plane has a split panel; one half for the pilot and half for the co-pilot. The panel is fairly complex with lots of pop-ups.
September 1, 200421 yr You can either dock to one of the main panels that does not disappear with the popups, or you can create a window on top of the rest and dock to that one. I did that with the Golden Eagle for FS2002. Just make sure you set it as visible=1 and you should be able to see the Advdisp window when you return to the panel view. I'm not familiar with the 310, so I can't really tell you more. One other thing. Make sure you don't dock with the top bar outside the panel. That can sometime cause the disappearing Advdisp.
September 1, 200421 yr I turns out that the AdvDisp is turned on and off with the Yoke display control. When you change views from the main cockpit window and come back, the default is with the yoke turned off. When you turn it back on, the AdvDisp window re-appears.
September 2, 200421 yr Hi iFly,I also use the Cessna 310 with RC; when you dock the AdvDisp, it will dock on whatever window you have opened. In 2D Main, I usually have all other windows off before I dock the unit (I hide the yokes). If, for example you have the Radio Stack visible when you dock AdvDisp, it will dock on that window. You'd have to open the Radio Stack in order to display AdvDisp, since you docked it within that window. Each additional window you open on a particular panel is opened on top of the main panel.i.e., gps, trim, etc. Once I'm airborne when using RC, I'll dock the AdvDisp with the Landing Panel, as I'll fly most of my route with that particular panel. You can lock the position of AdvDisp through the right-click menu. The disadvantage is that if you change to any view other than straight-on, AdvDisp will be in that window.I hope it's of help.Cheers,Mike T.
September 2, 200421 yr Commercial Member thanks mike.i recently discovered, though i think someone already figured it out, that you can dock advdisp to a window, that is triggered by one of the panel's buttons.i usually fly the default lear with the default panel. i clicked on the warning button, size the warning light display to be about the size of my advdisp window. then i docked advdisp to the warning light panel. then i can hide/show the advdisp window by simply clicking the warning button.if you have a registered copy of fsuipc, you can set a hotkey to show/hide the advdisp window. i set my hot key to be ` ;-)jd JD Read my blog
September 2, 200421 yr Mike, thanks a lot! I knew there would be someone out there who flew the 310 with RC. I kind of figured that the problem was which view I docked on after I discovered the Yoke thing. The Flight One 310 is a great looking and flying plane. I have very few payware planes and this is a good one. The 421C is also good. Thanks for the help...
