September 12, 200421 yr Will the weather avoidance procedures be better in RCv4 than at the present. As I understand it, at the moment, requesting turns for weather will be denied if you're within x miles of a waypoint on your route. Also, if you are on weather avoidance, RC will tell you to get back on route when approaching the next waypoint.Just wondering whether more realistic procedures will come about with RCv4. Maybe taking turns for avoidance and then when you're done, telling RC where you want to nav to.Also, are expecting RC4 sometime this year? Just trying to get a gauge on how long until it is released. Thanks for any info.-Phil Phil Brown
September 12, 200421 yr Commercial Member haven't had any requests for anything different.you could choose direct a different waypoint that might avoid some weatherworking hard on v4. about 20 things on the list to do, and test, and then test the whole package.i can't comment on delivery until at least that amount of work has been done.quality not calendarjd JD Read my blog
October 28, 200421 yr JD,pmfji, but I really like your "quality, not calendar" remark, sound much like what I'm reading over at the PMDG forum when users bug the team about realse dates of the upcoming 747-400 and MD-11.I mus admit though that I have been lurking here, waiting for RC4 as well, since it might just have all the things I'd like in non-online ATC and might finally relieve me of the somehwat intellectually challenged FS ATC.Just one example of FS ATC annoyances: When flying into Casablanca (GMMN) you end up with Casablanca center on 125.1, but there are two airports along the way with AWOS on 125.1, so you can't reply to ATC instructions and end up having your flight plan cancelled. Interesting to not that AI traffic can still talk to center, while the two AWOSES are blasting away one after the other.Best RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
