With the Interact with AI option checked RC3.1 latest build with call out AI traffic targets to you as well as talk to (but not control) them. RC 4 will offer some AI control.(according to postings here)

Our controllers will tell you what runway to taxi to. They will not tell you how to get there.It sounds like Flight Sim is losing focus. The next time RC seems to freeze move the cursor to anywhere on the panel except directly on top of Adv Display and hit enter. The key commands should start reponding.
