March 11, 200521 yr One of the product specifications for RCV3 was that it allows you to fly the STAR just as if it were off the Jepp Plate. Currently I have used the product three times and I can't get it to allow me to follow the FMC programmed route (the STAR). For example, when I got close, within 10 miles of the airport, at KLAS it vectored me almost 180 degrees away from the airport and then back in to the left. This was way off procedure. Any help here?Wilson HinesUAL004United Virtual AirlinesBoard of Directorshttp://virtual.united.com --------------------------------------Proficiencies: PSS 747,777, A32x, CS 727,PMDG 737-X, LevelD 767---------------------------------------FS2002|ActiveSky|FSRealTime|FSBuild2|FSNav|Jep SimCharts2|ACLoaderhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/checkcapt.jpghttp://www.ldsflyingclub.com/lsd1.jpg

March 11, 200521 yr Is there a possibility that your FMC database excluded waypoints in the flight plan? You will get vectored back if you did not get a waypoint (in the flight plan you created) credited in RC if you were not close enough to it. At some point in the final approach phase RC will disregard your waypoints unless you select a published approach meaning you need to cross all waypoints and navigate to the IAF of the published approach without RC assistance. You also have the option of selecting a NOTAMS option approach and ignoring a controller instruction.Real world ATC can depart from a STAR to assist in traffic seperation and control. Some STARS have different designated departing points according to the active runway landing.Generally RC follows your waypoints up to about 30 nm from destination or so.The new version forthcoming is said to look at the destination AI trends and attempt to follow them. This might require overiding your FMC LNAV in the final stages and reactivating at the IAF or intersection of the localizer.
