March 25, 200521 yr I flew into KSFM, which is an uncontrolled (non-towered) airport. I was cleared for the approach and handed off to tower. After landing I was handed off to ground. Since in real life there is no tower or ground at KSFM, why did RC create one? The tower frequency used was also made up and was not the same as the actual CTAF.When I checked the "controller info" screen in the RC screen, tower and ground are both checked. Do I need to modify this to tell RC that a field is non-towered and give it the correct CTAF? Is there also a way to use the correct ASOS/AWOS frequency for WX prior to being handed off to advisory frequency? Thanks for your help. -Neil
March 25, 200521 yr Commercial Member that's exactly what you need to do.i just checked the plate, and there are indeed tower and ground.http://www.myairplane.com/databases/approa...dfs/05490AD.PDFjd JD Read my blog

Any reason you wouldn't pull the correct info automatically in the same way as the default ATC?
March 25, 200521 yr Commercial Member my bad. sorryi checked the rcfrequ.csv file, and it shows that ksmf does not have tower and ground frequencies.but if you check the check boxes, saying you want tower and ground, frequencies are made up, to use.i also found in the v4 code, which means it was probably in the v3 code, that if there is a clearance delivery, and no ground or tower, make up the tower and ground frequencies. i'll try to figure out why that code is there.jd JD Read my blog
March 27, 200521 yr Author JD,I tried another flight to KSFM (Sanford, ME) and RC again shows the frequency and controller info as if it is a controlled field. The CTAF at KFIT is also wrong, showing 123.00. It's actually 122.70.It's not a big deal to uncheck the boxes next to tower, ground etc., and to correct the CTAF frequency, but I was curious if this was an issue with my installation. You mentioned above in your reply that you checked the CSV and the frequencies are correct. I confirmed the same, so why are they showing up wrong? Any ideas?A screenshot of the controller screen shows what is coming up by default. Thanks again.-Neil
March 28, 200521 yr Commercial Member i understand what you are saying. but i have a rule, for what ever reason, that says if there is a clearance delivery controller at a field, and the ground and tower frequencies are blank, that i make up a ground and tower frequency.that is why you're seeing what you are seeingjd JD Read my blog
