May 16, 200521 yr When I'm transfered to the approach controller and request the arrival weather, I experience a long delay of about 3 minutes before the ATIS comes up. This can be bad if I've been given an approach to a close runway, as by the time I'm back on the approach frequency it's difficult for RC to get my down to the runway in time.Is it possible with RC to tune into the arrival ATIS on COM2?Thanks for any help-Phil B Phil Brown
May 17, 200521 yr Commercial Member i suggest getting the arrival weather at 50 - 60 miles out, not after switching to approachjd JD Read my blog
May 17, 200521 yr Author Is that possible? I thought when you requested weather whilst en-route you get bthe en-route weather, as opposed to the arrival airports weather. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion.-Phil B Phil Brown
May 17, 200521 yr Commercial Member if you are running fs 9.x then the arrival weather is available once you are less than 60 miles from the arrival airportif you are running fs8 and activesky, or fs8 with fsmeteo the external programs stuff arrival weather into a special set of fsuipc offsets which i can read at 60 miles or lessjd JD Read my blog
