Problem with Landing using Radar 3.1

Featured Replies

I am in need of someone's help who either has had or has this problem. The problem is I am not able to land I am getting with in 12 miles (which is an aprovment of the 132miles) a couple days ago. I Use Radar 3.2 for fs2004 with FSPassengers and the new Queen of the Sky 747-400 my problem has happen on both my 8+ hour flights to NRT (RJAA) which is a addon airport by Simmer Sky. I am wondering if this is the problem or something else. Everything is up to date my FSUIPC is a new copy and registered I use FSBuild2.2 when I build I have AVS for my weather. If anyone can at all be of any help I would appreciate it. I have been emailing the owners of Radar who have tried to be as helpful as they can but to no luck in solving the problem.I have ruled out several things such as FsPassengers since I had that before I bought Radar as well as the Queen of the Sky I to had that first. its either Radar isn't liking the Airports that I have as Addon's and paided for or its something else . What happens is on landing my entire computer will freeze up and I will have to hold the power button to shut down it will not let me do anything else.

Hi there,I think there are more likely candidates for lockups than RC. I've experienced my fair share in my time and can't remember one for which RC was to blame.First of all I would quickly try a short flight (say from Tokyo Haneda) using a default aircraft and approach Narita from the direction you did in the flight that had problems.I've found the main cause of such lockups has been problems with scenery files, unrelated to RC. I've used that scenery for Narita myself without problems in the past but it's certainly the first thing I'd check.I had a problem where FS just stopped the other day when approaching Budapest. It would happen at exactly the same point each time I tried. I re-installed the scenery I have for Budapest and the problem was solved (in that case I guess it was a corrupt texture file). Also have you checked the PMDG support forums. I just searched the 747-400 General Support forum for the terms ctd or crash and found a fairly large list of topics. There might be something of help there.Have you flown this flight to Narita using the PMDG 747-400 successfully without RC?All the best,John

John, You are a god sent. Yes I have had no problem flying the Queen into Narita with out using RC I was thinking it maybe the airports doing it. I will test it out like you said I have yet to fly the 737MS version and will do that to see how it does. if it happens at the same point then I will reinstall the airports :) Thanks so much Joel

Well I am not any better. I have tried the MS 737-400 default and the 747-400 from MS. this time I am having the problem shortly after taking off. I am at my wits end about what to do. First it was on landing now it is shortly into the flight. Any Ideas????

sounds like scenery problems, maybe. are you taking off the same airport all the time. do you have add on scenery? can you try to fly from a default scenery airport to a default scenery airport. if that's it.... i'll let the scenery guys take it from there.are you running fs 9.1?jd

Yes everything in my FS9 is current, This time I desided not to leave from NRT But from a airport with no addon I left from Boston I got about 100miles out in to the flight when my entire fs crashed. if this keeps up I am going to be very dissapointed that I spent the money on Radar and should have waited till a newer version came out. I still may buy version 4 when and if it does come out.Joel

In regards to the last thing I said I also did try a sugestion of Rick's to Uninstall FS and Radar to which I did and I am still haveing the problem the only other thing I can think of doing is reinstalling all of the addon Airports, to which I am not sure if that will do any good.Joel

send me an email, and i'll refund your money. i can almost guarantee you it's not radar contact crashing fs. if it were, it would be crashing thousands of machines, and it isn't. there is something unique about your configuration. it's just a matter of finding out what it is, by the process of eliminationdo you have the latest video drivers? are you running full screen or windowed. what else do you have running?and the other thing i can guarantee, v4 is coming out ;-)jd

JoelOn the end of something you mentioned in your original message; try stepping back to the previous version of whatever FSUIPC you had running - I once had a problem of FS freezing which was resolved by doing this. Might be worth a shot but I too reckon it'll be an add-on (scenery ?) issue.hthKevin

Well Guy I have very good news After Email after Email with a very nice guy named JD we resolved the issue. I now have had 2 sucessful flights. Your FS2004 should be 9.l and you should have the latest FSUICP everything has so far worked out.
