December 15, 200520 yr Eric, try registering the ocx file manually . in your Windows menu, choose run and type regsvr32.exe c:windowssystemcomdlg32.ocx(replace the path value with the actual path on your machine which you can easily determine by running a file search from the explorer for comdl*.* ) . Hope this helps,Joerg
December 15, 200520 yr Tnx Joerg,I did a little research myself and found that file was simply NOT present in my system32 directory ??!!I thank you for your advice which corresponds to what i found on the net .. and yes it worked :))))Download COMDLG32.OCX (right click the text on the left and save to your Desktop).Back up your current copy of COMDLG32.OCX and copy the new version to the same file location. This file should be located in the WINDOWSSYSTEM directory on your C: drive (for Windows NT and 2000: WINNTsystem32). Using your mouse, click on the "Start" button and then click on "Run". According to your Operating System, type the following command to register this library file:Windows 95, 98, or Me:regsvr32 windowssystemCOMDLG32.OCXWindows NT or 2000:regsvr32 WINNTsystem32COMDLG32.OCXWindows XP:regsvr32 windowssystem32COMDLG32.OCXYou should see a message saying "DllRegisterServer ... succeeded" If you are getting an error telling you that the file is missing, then you are not typing the command in correctly. You will need to type it in *exactly* as as shown above for your operating system.* Please note that there is a SPACE after "regsvr32" and before the rest of the command. found and execetud the follwoing

December 17, 200520 yr Downloaded and run that, still no joy. Looking at my System32 folder, i've got COMDLG32.DLL but no COMDLG.OCX :-( Alaister Kay
December 22, 200520 yr You can also place the COMDLG32.OCX in the same directory as the Radar Contact .exe. .OCX's are self registering and only if you have a corrupt file should you need to force a registration. The RC folks should probably provide via download the .dll and .OCX pair they want RC to use and have the user place them in the folder with the .exe. Part of the hassle here is that comdlg32.ocx is a licensed control for VB and finding a legit copy for download is difficult. It is OK for VB/VS/VC.... owners to distribute the control with their products, and I would guess make it available for download - at least via a mini-setup.exe.I think it may also be practical for them to code to the .dll instead of the .ocx and the problem would go away in the next update.
April 18, 200620 yr Hi everyoneI got my CD today :-)Quickly I ran into this :-( Since I forgot my credentials at avsim library, I wasn't able to download the 4.01 update yet.>I did a little research myself and found that file was simply>NOT present in my system32 directory ??!!>I thank you for your advice which corresponds to what i found>on the net .. and yes it worked :))))You just forgot to mention the website where you picked that up:http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/suppo...me=COMDLG32.OCXI'm not sure if that's a trustworthy source...Anyway, sorry for reviving such an old thread, but it didn't solve my problem per se. Google.com helped a bit and returned the above address.Cheers,Pedro Venda.
